چکیده

We calculate the second-order correlation function for atomic fluorescence in two-photon resonance operation of a driven dissipative Jaynes-Cummings oscillator. employ minimal four-level model comprising transition alongside two intermediate states visited cascaded process, spirit [S. S. Shamailov et al., Opt. Commun. 283, 766 (2010)]. point to difference between output JC oscillator exhibiting blockade and scattered field ordinary fluorescence, discuss quantum interference effect involving states, which is also captured axially transmitted light. The spectrum intensity emission explicitly reflect particulars model.

Single-photon blockade in doubly resonant nanocavities with second-order nonlinearity

We propose the use of nanostructured photonic nanocavities made of χ (2) nonlinear materials as prospective passive devices to generate strongly sub-Poissonian light via single-photon blockade of an input coherent field. The simplest scheme is based on the requirement that the nanocavity be doubly resonant, i.e., possess cavity modes with good spatial overlap at both the fundamental and second-...

Observation of detection-dependent multi-photon coherence times.

The coherence time constitutes one of the most critical parameters that determines whether or not interference is observed in an experiment. For photons, it is traditionally determined by the effective spectral bandwidth of the photon. Here we report on multi-photon interference experiments in which the multi-photon coherence time, defined by the width of the interference signal, depends on the...

The efficiency of second order orientation coherence detection

Neurons in early visual cortex respond to both luminance- (1st order) and contrast-modulated (2nd order) local features in the visual field. In later extra-striate areas neurons with larger receptive fields integrate information across the visual field. For example, local luminance-defined features can be integrated into contours and shapes. Evidence for the global integration of features defin...

Second-order coherence of a Bose-Einstein condensate

The interference observed between two Bose-Einstein condensates demonstrated clearly the long-range coherence of a Bose condensate [1]. The fringe contrast is directly related to first-order coherence. Our paper [2] showed that previous measurements of the interaction energy of a condensate can be reinterpreted as a measure for second-order coherence and therefore provide direct evidence for th...

Snapshot coherence-gated direct wavefront sensing for multi-photon microscopy.

Deep imaging in turbid media such as biological tissue is challenging due to scattering and optical aberrations. Adaptive optics has the potential to compensate the tissue aberrations. We present a wavefront sensing scheme for multi-photon scanning microscopes using the pulsed, near-infrared light reflected back from the sample utilising coherence gating and a confocal pinhole to isolate the li...
